so for a living i am in the food industry, and one of my jobs is to drive a food truck. now i know what you're thinking and no i dont drive the traditional "roach coach", i drive the ones that are wrapped and go to the food truckfests etc. this is a business that everyone thinks they can do and from experience they are wrong this is a business that you need to have another steady source of income as with the good days there are alot of slow days as well as unforeseen expenses like a broken generator, or your fridge stops working or just paying for basics like gas and propane.
and driving the truck takes some getting used to. my 1st driving lesson was at 1 a.m. after we catered a party. but after a few more times i learned the trick was to get out before you even drive and survey your surroundings and plan how you are going to get out or park your truck. now since i do that i am always amazing people with my driving skills i can parallel park her like nobodys business.
another tip is to staff your truck with thin people and preferably females. now dont get me wrong there are alot of men who work on trucks but from experience females not only communicate better, we are cleaner, faster, more logical and we can figure out how to solve problems real fast.
so if you are thinking of going into this field i would say talk to different people who own trucka and even work on one for awhile to even see if you want to do it.

I did it faster
I did my 2nd half marathon on the 7th.
now going into it i didn't train as much, ok i hardly trained at all running maybe once or twice most weeks and never longer than 4 miles. so i had some serious doubt as to weather or not i could do it. but i did fork out the $50 and already got the shirt so i was only half way to earning the right to wear the shirt. so Sunday morning i got up at 6 out the door 15 minutes later. my wave started at 7:35 well it took 7 minutes just to cross the start line. the big difference between this one and the one i did last year was i had a fuel belt on. i had 2 bottles with pineapple aide in it each half frozen and cliff bar and a yummy Justin's chocolate nut butter packet.
once i was there though the energy from everyone else and nerves helped fuel me to at least try and then once the marching bands drum team went by to pump us up it was on! then my competitive side came out, i purposely didnt look at what my time was last time i did the American river parkway run so i wouldnt try to kill myself to beat it my goal was really just to finish. and not only did i finish but i beat my time by 9 minutes 10 seconds AND to top it off i found out after the fact that the course was marked wrong and we ended up running 13.69 miles instead of 13.1nso i would have beaten my time by even more if i wanna do the math to figure my time at 13.1 but i dont because im not very good at math.
now my next run will be next weekend with my oldest niece we are doing a zombie run but this one we are gonna be the zombies and not a runner more fun this way. so excited.

A great day
me and my hubs decided to head to Montery for the day. it was great fun we hung out just the two of us without the distractions of chores, kid or animals. just enjoying eachothers company while looking at cool sea life.
that mini vacay helped to recharge my battery. so today i've been eating soup, egg sammie, and made black bean brownies for the 1st time they are ok the guys like them so at least i know they arent eating something totally terrible for them. i also made healthy chicken tacos.
on the exercise front im gonna go out tonite its been really muggy today plus sometimes its nice to switch it up every now and then.

WW
so i am sitting here waiting for my WW meeting to start. i weighted in and gained 2.2 pounds. i expected it, i actually expected to have gained more im happy to still be in the 160's. i rode my bike to drop pff my hubbys lunch and to the meeting. it was harder than it should have been not sure if its the bike or me. today i plan to make a big pot of soup for me to eat and just try to keep the activity up and the munchies down.
my ultimate goal is for me to be a milf. Ha yes some may say stupid but its what will make me feel good about myself because c'mon every woman wants to be desired i dont care what they say. and also for my hubbys buddys to also want me he deserves to have a hot wife.
im learning some new recipes here must remember 1 20oz can crushed pinneapple and angel food cake.

Age 24
i went jogging this a.m. and did better than i thought. Plus I did the Wii and had a Wii fit age of 24, 10 years younger than my actual age.
on my jog i realized that i like myself. i just need to tweek the package but im general i do like myself. this may not spund like much but beleive me it it, basically my whole life i never thought anyone would like me, that i didnt have anything to offer really introverted. but not anymore as i get older i care less and less about what others think which makes it easier tobe myslef which turns out to be a fun person. not to make the outside as fun as the inside.

day off
im taking the day off running instead i deep cleaned my kiitchen, and made a Whiskey Apple Pie. the past 2 days of work have been on the truck which is like doing that bikrahm yoga, it get unbealivably hot in there.
so today was a me day got paid, baked, cleaned without interuption, baked, and didnt have to leave the house early to take someone to school or take a lunch.

a workout buddy
i did it i rode my bike to my hubbys work to take him lunch which is a 2 mile round trip. then me and my dog (new workout buddy) went on a 2.5 mile jog. it felt good once i was out there but man alive is it hard to get started. i just fixed myself a nice big salad, which iam currwntly trying to keep away for my kittens they will eat anything even dog food.

day 2 on the quest to a new me
so i talked it over with my hubby and he is finally ok with me having a mommy make over. for years i have been tellinf him i want my boobs higher and bigger and hes always said no he doesnt like the look (yeah right), and he may only be agreeing because of all the money weare puting into the car, but whatwverthe reason i'll take it.
i didnt go running today which is bad but i did take care of major housework these past 2 days and i am going tomorrow no matter what. now a little known fact is i smoke. i am going to cut back but not quit. limit it to before bed to help me relax and sleep.
my eating has been ok thus far had 1 egg with toast and sausage for bfast, cerealas a snack, and a big ass salad to help keep me full while at work. which i need to start now.

$7000 for Bust
i have decided to have a mommy make-over. most of the quotes are around $5000 but how could extra money be bad. my goal isto have itsaved my next year, which will require alotof hustling and doing without. now understand I will be the one doing without nothing will change for my family.
right now im leaning towards Smart-lipo, butof course when it comes down to doing it i may have to reasses as i will also be doing my best to lose as much weight and gain as much muscle as i can so that i can have the best possible results and start the 2nd half of my life finally being comfortable in my own skin.
i've gotten myself a tablet which will make it easier for me to blog my progress. as well as doing weight watchers will be a good combo to make me reach this goal.

Hello Stranger!
I know its been awhile since I've posted but since this is just for me who cares. Right? Anywho, I am getting busier at work and love my set schedule, but of course not loving the heat.
I was sick for what seemed like forever which of course happened right after I started training for a half marathon in October I signed up for. So I didn't work out for like 2 weeks. I went out for a run this morning for the 1st time and I have lost time on my mile (no bueno). But I will get back to where I was and then continue to improve since I can also run around the restaurant or at Discovery park after work.
As for weight-loss I have pretty much bounced between 2 pounds gained 2 pounds lost. But with me being able to increase my training (the real reason I signed up for the 13.1 as a incentive to run). I may even go for a walk right now as I cant sleep and its still pretty warm out.
I WILL try to get better about posting more (shouldn't be hard to post more frequently then once every 2 months :)

To many EGGs in the air
While I was on Spring Break I was going over next quarters class syllabus and realized they would require way more time than I had so I had to put my culinary education on hold for now. I thought I would be sad about it (I and I alone made this decision my family supports me either way) but i'm not. I actually feel really good about it. I have more time to spend at home and taking care of family business as well as the flexibility to work whenever possible. I am also getting the chance to experiment with different cakes.
Now on the weight loss front I am back down to my original weight and i have started back on a low carb (20-40g) diet I lost pretty well when I did it before and it wasn't so hard for me to do I just have to be ready when i start going through my candy withdrawal. But I bought some individually wrapped frozen talapia for me and a bunch of broccoli and other veggies and some pork rinds. Even though I am starting this on a Monday I will still only weight myself on Thursday so this Thursday will be my start weight for the low carb diet. I am also committing myself back to the gym for at least a total of 5 hours a week. I will also be taking my son with me this week as a guest to see if he is willing to actually go and put in the work. Well thats all for now.

SPRING BREAK WHOOHOOO!!!!!
I am between the Winter and Spring quarters so its my Spring Break week. I have today and possibly tomorrow off of work, my hubby has tomorrow off maybe we'll go see a movie (or 2). Grades aren't "officially" in but the Chefs have finished their gradebook which we have access to so my grades are an A and a C so I still have a 3.0 my goal.
having this good chunk of time to myself and nothing pressing I'm going to be hitting the gym hard I already went for 1 hour this a.m. and I think I'm gonna go again in a little bit. I need to get serious about losing weight since I will be starting a baking & pastry class I need to be able to compensate for those extra calories, plus shorts season is coming up and I want to wear dresses and shorts without my legs looking all gross.
In other news (baking news) I have been baking up a storm, since Tuesday I have made 2 lemon bundt cakes, whole wheat bread, my "Birthday Cake", and homemade peanut butter, bacon & carrot dog treats. I have been feeling so inspired lately in working on the classic stuff i think i make take a stab at pie dough again tonite but I have to figure out what i want to fill it with tho i have been thinking caramel banana pudding pie. Well that's it for now time to do the laundry and dishes so the house it clean for when i make the pie crust tonite.

My life...
I have been thinking a lot lately about my life and what I want out of it. My main goal as is I'm sure most peoples is to be happy. Now for some its to have a lot of money, or fame, or maybe even to help others (not that I mind helping others I just don't want to focus my life around it). Anywho what makes me happy is being a worker bee. I don't have a desire to be in charge of people, I just want to go into "work" be able to bake many different items from scratch using thee best tested recipes, and go home feeling satisfied. That's all.
And in my personal life I'm happier than I thought I would be without my sisters in my life I don't have to wonder when I'm gonna get a call for money or some other favor. And I'm glad that I am finally starting to stand up for and believe in myself. I am very lucky to have a husband who supports me and what I want to achieve in life and a son who is so smart its annoying (in a good way) and a fun place to work that I enjoy going to each day. So here is to hoping it all falls into place.
On a related yet unrelated note I added a ticker to the top of my page as I have started www.myfitnesspal.com to help get me to one of my other goals which is my ideal weight and my next tattoo.

Back in the saddle
Due to time issues and the uncertainty of job hours I am not able to continue my cross-fit training (sad face). Butt I have learned proper form and great moves that I am able to use back at my gym. Which I went to today for the 1st time this month (another sad face). I need to get back into the routine of going to the gym at least 4 times a week and working out hard (which I normally do), today was a little different I actually rode my bike 4 miles round trip to the gym which was hard since I haven't been in my bike in a year. The bike at the gym is no where near like riding one in real life there was wind resistance, hills, and of course the face that I had to physically pedal myself and my bike in a forward motion and wasn't able to lean back and read while I pedaled aimlessly. I did a lot of the squat moves I learned in CF along with some of my normal exercises and i was glad to see I didn't lose any strength in the 3 weeks I was MIA. I haven't gotten on the scale, my clothes still fit just not like I want them to so I am going on a "diet" I'm torn between the 80 bite one and a modified WW. The 80 bite one is you are only allowed 80 bites of food a day which can be anything you want but only 80 bites total for the day so 20 each for b-fast, lunch, and dinner and than 10 each for 2 snacks. The downside to this one is when it comes to school and my tasting the food. My other option is the modified WW where I would use the original plans point system but incorporate the 0 points of fruits/veggies of the new plan. I will admit I am leaning more towards this plan.
Speaking of school this is my last week of this quarter. I'm sad to leave my American Regional class as it has become one of my favorites and I love the teacher. I know I wont make my grade goals this quarter and I'm fine with that so long as I pass. And I am looking forward to next quarter where I get to get into baking and cake decorating (happy face). I'm also falling more and more in love with not only baking but cooking as well. I've made buttermilk pies, foccacia, and bread pudding just in the past week. I've better organized my cookbooks by getting another bookcase and separating out my baking from my savory books so I am even more inspired to try new things now that I can see all my books.
Thats pretty much all I have to report for now in addition to work (which I love especially since they fired the loser) I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a baking job once the brick n mortar opens. Maybe i'll make a pie tomorrow, but what kind?

I know I wont make my grade goals this quarter and I'm fine with that so long as I pass. And I am looking forward to next quarter where I get to get into baking and cake decorating (happy face). I'm also falling more and more in love with not only baking but cooking as well. I've made buttermilk pies, foccacia, and bread pudding just in the past week. I've better organized my cookbooks by getting another bookcase and separating out my baking from my savory books so I am even more inspired to try new things now that I can see all my books.
Thats pretty much all I have to report for now in addition to work (which I love especially since they fired the loser) I'm looking forward to hopefully getting a baking job once the brick n mortar opens. Maybe i'll make a pie tomorrow, but what kind?

I have signed up for CrossFit and had my 1st session on Saturday (more in another post). and I have joined the ACF club at school which will help to ramp up my knowledge and bring out my competitive side when it comes to cooking and will push me to do and be better.

Look out 2012
Well over Winter break I got my grades and I finished my 1st semester with a 3.2 GPA not to bad higher than my goal of at least a 3.0. I passed Servsafe. And now have pretty stable job hours. So all in all its been a pretty productive break. But the big BIG deal is I have finally gotten to that sweet spot of working out where I actually want to and feel lazy if I miss a day. Which I have to push myself right now to do because I know my body needs a rest day (or 2) but i am so scared right now of becoming to rested and struggling to get back into it again. Not to mention real frustrated with no weight loss. In the past 7 days I have worked out a total of 8 hours and thats with a rest day. I do 15-30 minutes of cardio each time and the rest in weights. As of the 1st I am getting back into being a good dog person and taking my pooch for a daily walk. Maybe my body is in shock and is holding onto it and I will have a big drop sometime or maybe im eating more than I think i do struggle with journaling my food. But I am starting the new year off with a fridge full of veggies and im going to take a salad to work everyday and this week i will figure out a way to stiull be able to workout with school starting next week and work. It is sooo doable it has to be i dont want to be fat anymore. I know i have some issues which i may go into later but i dont know what they are and dont have the $$ for a shrink so i need to find a way to resolve these things in my head.
On another note i am still trying new things slowly but surely. Just recently I tried calamari (good), and mahi mahi (not so good, dry), also chicharonnes (meaty) and these were real good, and im experimenting with different ways to cook with chorizo.
